There technically is no such bird as a “Seagull”. In the UK we have seven species of gulls which breed regularly in the UK:
Herring Gull, Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Greater Black Backed Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Kittiwake, Mediterranean Gull
Some cause problems with their fouling and can be aggressive when protecting their young and others have learnt to mug people for food. Though this is normally through us as humans feeding them. They have adapted there behaviours to live along side and benefit from man.
See these two links showing how ruthless they can be but also cheeky and opportunist!
